Cerrie Freeman

Hairdresser

Cerrie has spent the best part of 20 years in the hairdressing industry and she is proud to be able to share her talent with North Queensland. Cerrie Freeman is the creative driving force behind Townsille’s newest concept salon – Moon. Cerrie’s caeer first began when she trained locally at the famous Maiden Hair Salon, where she quickly progressed to a management role. Cerrie soon moved to Sydney with the International company Goldwell Cosmetics. Cerrie’s passion for Feng Shui played a large part in the design of Moon. Moon is a place where you can kick off your shoes and relax in its unique environment.

Derek Chapman

Hair Stylist

Derek was born and raised in New Zealand, and was the son of a Maori sheep and cattle farmer. Derek grew up dreaming of playing rugby for his country and joining the Police Force, however fate had a different career in mind. Derek’s mother suggested that he learn a trade, so after a visit to his local hairdresser he asked about hairdressing and the rest is history. Derek was lead to the United Kingdom to learn from the best. He spent 10 years working for Vidal Sassoon in London’s trendy West End. Later he moved to Australia where he opened his own salon in Sydney, followed by one in Wellington. Derek has had the opportunity to rub shoulders with international celebrities, British royalty and rock stars. His fascination for photography also lead him to working with famous catwalk models.

Bianca

Hairdresser

Bianca came to Moon as a work experience student and has remained on to complete her apprenticeship and qualifications as a hairdresser.
